gods and spirits: the Morrigan

I have done nothing this month. Somehow the entire month is gone already, and I have done nothing. (Spiritually. I’ve been busy in other areas. Very busy.) The severance ritual […]

Fit to Worship

Trigger warning: fatphobia, ableism, mention of disordered eating, suicide So recently there was a question on TC regarding whether or not we have a religious duty to take care of […]

Innocence

There seems to be conflation with innocence and purity, and I believe that’s a Victorian idea still lingering around, wrecking the place and never paying rent. It’s wrong. I don’t […]

I realized today — I don’t know how to pray. I do pray, quite often, but it’s always clumsy, and sort of haphazard, like I’m picking my way through a […]

In case you need more Morag this week, I’ve also posted at Maenads of the (R)Evolution (MaRE for short), my project with partner-in-crime-and-awesomeness Daniel Grey (aka Sage or Danny). As well, Veggiewolf also […]

Landbinding

I mentioned Landbinding once, I think, in my blood sacrifice post. Since then I’ve been meaning to actually talk about what Landbinding is, or at least what sorts of nebulous […]

Finally doing that B post that I was missing! Trigger warning for discussion of cutting. Warning for discussion of blood and blood sacrifice. On June 23rd, at sunset, I had […]

Dionysos, the Liberator

Things I Learned the Night of the New Moon Flying ointment + wine combo makes you think that nothing much is happening while you’re dancing and worshipping at the altar […]

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience. —Pierre Teilhard de Chardin That quote may seem rather cliché, especially to many […]

…is not a little like being in a poly relationship with someone who continually brings broken things –animate or inanimate, doesn’t really matter — back home so She can tinker […]

I have Plans for tomorrow (er, today; whatever I haven’t slept yet so it’s still tomorrow). In my constantly evolving personal practice, I worship a Sacred Triad of deities: Brighid, […]

I’ve followed through with my idea to create different dedication blogs to my gods, and have created one so far. Milk and Honey: life serving Brighid. Only one post so […]

When Morrigan first Thwapped me, She told me that She’d chosen me before I was even born, but didn’t reveal Herself until that point. I got angry. Not only had […]

There are so many I could talk about! However, I’m going to talk about my favourite myth regarding M’Lady Morrigan. This story very clearly illustrates Morrigan’s greater function in Irish […]

Between 2007 (when Morrigan Thwapped me) and 2010 (when I got involved with Brighid, Manannan, Lugh, and Aphrodite), Morrigan was always by my side. I always knew She was there. Since January 2010, She’s not been distant per se, but definitely not always by my side. I realized today it was because She knew I needed Her every step of the way when it was just the two of us. Now I work with other deities, I have a network of support and She can step back without me falling down and breaking.

Now my heart is bursting with love, in this moment. To realize one’s deity loves you so completely is a rush.
